Thamer, a 25-year-old young Tunisian, lives in a working-class neighborhood and comes from a disadvantaged background. Like every evening, he sits in his favorite spot with a bottle of red wine.
The story takes place in the late 1990s. One night, his childhood friend shows up and tempts him with the dream of illegal immigration, a “Harka,” aboard a makeshift boat. Thamer believes in the dream and starts imagining a new life. But sadly, nothing goes as planned.
